Newskool Breaks
Friday, August 4th, 2000, Cape Town, South Africa

"Cape Town's first official nu skool breaks party was a huge success!" Gareth Tacon aka DJ Chesh reports from South Africa. "People were spilling out of the club and everyone there had fat grins all over their faces. Very satisfying."

The party was held at a "boiling" Dogstar record store which ran out of beer and cider by 11:30pm so everyone had to hit the spirits - "no need to explain what happened next really".

Deejays for the evening were DJ Chesh, DJ Fletcher from Krushed & Sorted (African Dope Records), Anton and DJ Quake.

DJ Chesh said he and Quake plan to stage an event every first Friday of the month leading up to the South African summer season (wintertime up in Europe and North America) when they plan to move to larger, outdoor venues.

Check out some pics from the party on the right and below!
