All
aboard for Ireland's only breakbeat party on a
ship, Beatsahoy!
Beatsahoy! makes its first sea voyage of
2002 on Saturday, March
30th.
Join DJs CHAZ, JONNIE and guest SIMIE (Head
- Manchester) as they throw down and cut
up huge slatterns of funk for your ass shaking
enjoyment.
The boat now leaves Derry's quay at 9pm
and returns after 1am. Boarding/Bar open from
8.15pm. Drinks promotions and complimentary Beatsahoy
sickbags are available! No ticket required -but
be early to be sure of getting on. Passage/entry
£10. Easy hearts and chilled souls only.
Details/dates for all Beatsahoy's
boat nights are listed on the newly (finally)
updated website www.beatsahoy.com
which
also boasts a section (designed
to grow) of original, unreleased tracks from local/Irish
producers who are or have played on the boat.
Beatsahoy! held it's first night in April
2001. The club is Ireland's only floating funky
breaks club. It sails out throughout the summer
months from the quayside in Derry City to Greencastle
in county Donegal. The resident DJs - Chaz and
Jonny, who between them have been playing for
over 16 years, have evolved a unique DJing style
to compliment the fact that they are playing to
an audience on a boat. Their style has been nicknamed
'boatbeat' by local audiences. Guest DJs who play
the boat are always put totally at ease by the
wild, but extremely friendly regulars.
For those afraid of water, you can also
catch the Beatsahoy residents regularly at Sandinos
Cafe Bar in Derry, also at different venues in
Belfast and elsewhere in Ireland. For more details
