Interview by [Akademia Recordings] |
Danny McMillan has been pushing the breaks for many years, as deejay and artist and as head honcho and A&R for various labels, including proto jungle label Strictly Underground and, more recently, Rennie Pilgrem's nu skool breaks label TCR. Together, Rennie and Danny were responsible for inventing the name "nu skool breaks". |
Danny records under various names including Uptown Connection (with Kevin Beber), Boundarie Hunters (with Mikey James) and McMillan & South. |
Last year Danny founded a ground-breaking new breakbeat label called In-Flight Entertainment. In this interview, he reveals why he recently decided to close down the label. Danny also chats about Fractured Beats, his new show on Ministry of Sound Radio. |
