Q:
Hi Adam, thanx for taking the
time out to talk. I understand
that you've got a new mix album
in the pipelines, what can you
tell us about it - what is it
called and when will it be
released?
A:
Yep, it's out October 9th, called
'On Tour'.
Q:
Will this album be showcasing any
new artists on Marine Parade, or
any other new talent that we
should be aware
of?
A:
We have signed ILS and the mix
features a track from his
forthcoming album which is
sounding killer. Also Pulse (ex
drum 'n' bass producer) has
joined the family and he's done
an exclusive track for the vinyl
only. It also features a remix
ILS and I did of Fluke, and an
exclusive track from Bassbin
Twins.
Q:
What's the vibe/style of this new
album, will it be taking up where
'Tectonics' left off, or is it to
be something completely in a
different vein ?
A:
Well, it's moved up a notch I
think. This is definitely my best
mix yet, I'm really fucking happy
with it. I cut in crowd ambience
from alot of the big festivals
and clubs I've been playing
around the world and it sounds
like a live show. So yeah it's
definately a fresh direction.
Also the tunes are better now
than ever and it
shows.
Q:
Getting on to your label Marine
Parade, you've come back with the
Apex "Symmetry" track after a bit
of a break, was there any
particular reason for this
break?
A:
I'm a slacker.
Q:
I wouldn't believe for one minute
that you're slack Adam! But
anyway... What plans have you got
for your next single release on
Marine Parade?
A:
We've got loads of stuff coming
up. next single is an electro
track by Steve Bug and djT from
Germany with an Evil 9 mix. We
also have new Apex, ILS and new
signing Infusion, singles ready
to go. Also ILS' album is done,
due for spring
release.
Q:
Are you currently working on any
tracks or album of your own,
either by yourself or as Tsunami
One? or are you being kept too
busy in other
ways?
A:
Yes I'm working on my artist's
album, we knocked the Tsunami One
thing on the head about 18 months
ago as Kev [Beber] and I
wanted to do different things.
The artist album is taking time
because I'm obviously continually
touring the world as a DJ and it
hard to juggle that with having a
label too. but there's no hurry -
I'm really happy with whats
coming together.
Q:
Getting back to the DJing side of
things, how long have you been
playing breaks
now?
A:
Been DJing for about 9 years.
Breaks really took control for me
in about '95.
Q:
Do you feel that your style has
changed much over the past few
years ?
A:
It's continually changing, that's
the whole ethos of what I'm
doing. I'm trying to keep it on
the edge and push things
forwards.
